GERMINATION  AND  VEGETATIVE PROPAGATION

Our classroom recently transformed into a bustling miniature laboratory as we explored the magic of how plants grow!

​Using simple chana (gram) and dal seeds, we set up our own mini-gardens. By germinating them ourselves, we got a clear, firsthand look at the secret structures hidden inside. We easily identified the protective seed coat, the nutrient-rich cotyledons, the microscopic embryo, and the tiny baby plant stretching outward.

Did you know? Seeds aren’t the only way to grow new life. We also explored vegetative propagation—growing plants without seeds!

​To see this in action, we observed how new shoots sprout directly from the “eyes” of a potato and how a fresh rose bush can climb from a simple stem cutting. It was an amazing, muddy, and unforgettable hands-on science adventure!
